Waiver, Indemnification, and Medical Treatment Authorization Form
It is the mission of Grad Camp and every participating member to create a welcoming atmosphere for new graduate and professional students to Texas A&M University by introducing them to the values, traditions, and campus community, thereby ameliorating the transition into graduate school at Texas A&M and providing a support network to aid in student retention.
To uphold the mission and standards of Grad Camp, this behavior and policy agreement has been established.
How will Grad Camp Camp staff respond if you violate a Texas A&M University rule?
A Grad Camp team member will immediately report the alleged violation to the Director Staff. Grad Camp Directors will meet with you to discuss the situation and to determine whether or not you should remain at Grad Camp.
As a participant in Grad Camp, I agree to follow all student rules, camp regulations, and Texas A&M policies throughout the duration of Grad Camp. I understand that if I violate this conduct provision, it will result in my immediate removal from Grad Camp.
Behavior violations of the Student Rules may be reported to Texas A&M University Student Conduct Office and/or local law enforcement following removal from the camp.
Close-Toed Shoes (sneakers recommended) must be worn by all Grad Camp participants. Wearing supportive, protective shoes will help to avoid many of the injuries that can occur during physical activities.
At Camp Discipline Process
If a participant or staff member violates a Grad Camp policy during camp, Director Staff along with the Primary Advisor will meet as soon as possible to discuss the situation.
Facts will be presented to the participant or staff members, and the participant/staff member will be given an opportunity to present their side of the story regarding the incident.
A determination will be made as to whether or not the individual knowingly violated the policy and the extent as to which it was violated (if at all).
Depending on the violation, discipline could range from either a verbal warning or immediate removal from camp/camp functions and activities.
If the violation endangers the lives or safety of other campers or Grad Camp Staff, the Director Staff will send the participant home and their violation will be referred to the Student Conduct Office and/or University Police Department upon return to campus.
