Grad Camp Counselors!

This is an amazing experience to volunteer for and be a part of incoming graduate and professional students’ first days here in College Station. Grad Camp is a one day long session where incoming students are able to learn about the resources and unique culture, as well as meet some new people. As a Grad Camp Counselor, you are responsible for mentoring and welcoming new graduate students to Texas A&M University and attending training prior to the camp. The date for Grad Camp will be August 12th.. A brief description of your role as a Counselor can be found below:

The Grad Camp Counselors’ primary job and responsibility is during the days of actual Grad Camp. Counselors will facilitate discussion groups and engage with campers in order to promote an inclusive and welcoming environment during the day of camp. Counselors are the first point of interaction for Grad Camp attendees. You will be expected to attend training and prep days prior to Grad Camp. These training days are vital to your success as a Counselor. If you need to miss any of the training dates, you must send your excuse to both the Counselor Coordinator and the Grad Camp Director. Your excuse must be sent at least one week in advance. After Grad Camp, Counselors will be encouraged to take part in continuity events to continue fostering relationships beyond the day of camp.
